Indy Pass Spring Skiing and Resort Closing Dates – 2023/24
We’re still mulling over how we want to end our ski season. We’ve been looking over weather forecasts, closing dates, and snow depths, and right now, it’s between Oregon and California. Or maybe both! Where would you go?
In case you missed it, yesterday I published everything I know about spring skiing using Powder Alliance benefits. We have season passes to Ski Cooper who participates in Powder Alliance giving us three free days of skiing and riding at each of 22 other participating resorts.
Since we also have Indy+ Passes this season, I’ve put together the closing dates and current snow depths of Indy resorts in the West and Rockies regions.
I’ve also shared two recommendations for a spring skiing road trip with Indy this season.
And if you don’t have an Indy Pass, I’ve included a list of spring pass deals at Indy resorts.

My favorite spring skiing road trip ideas using Indy Pass
Powder Mountain – PowMow is one of the best Indy resort for epic powder and no crowds, so I normally wouldn’t suggest using your two Indy Pass days for sun and corn snow.
However, since Powder isn’t participating in Indy next season, it’s your last chance if you haven’t redeemed your two days already. Three weeks of their season remain, so you might still be able to catch some late-season powder.
If you have time for a week-long road trip to northern Utah, you could close out the season with Beaver Mountain and Cherry Peak as well.
(Note: Cherry Peak is an Indy Allied resort so tickets aren’t free, but Indy pass holders get 25% off lift tickets on weekends and 50% on weekdays. An adult day ticket is already one of the cheapest around at only $48!)
Check out our guides to all three resorts, including our van camping recommendations:
Northern California and Oregon – In less than 500 miles and 9 hours of driving, you can hit four different ski areas with great late-season coverage, including Mt. Shasta, Mt. Ashland, Hoodoo, and Mt. Hood Meadows. Mt. Ashland is the only one that doesn’t allow overnight RV camping.
I’d recommend doing them in the order listed (south to north) as Mt. Shasta is scheduled to close first on April 8 and Meadows is trying to push their season all the way to May 18.
If you haven’t been, the Oregon towns on this route are some of our absolute favorites for great food and year-round outdoor activities – Ashland, Bend, Sisters, and Hood River.
With the spring weather, you could toss in some early season hiking and mountain biking days.
