McCall RV Resort Review – Perfect for Indy Pass Holders

Quick introduction to McCall RV Resort
McCall RV Resort is one of seven RV resorts that are part of the G7 family located in McCall, Idaho. It’s in a beautiful setting amongst conifers and receives daily visits from mule deer. They are only a five-minute drive or 1.5-mile walk from downtown McCall.
This is my absolute favorite RV resort in the western US, and the town of McCall is my most beloved mountain town. We’ve stayed at McCall RV Resort for months at a time to make the most of what McCall and Valley County have to offer.
What’s to love about McCall RV Resort
It’s a true RV resort
Many RV parks put Resort in their name, but amenities vary widely from one RV resort to another. Some really don’t deserve a resort designation, but I think McCall RV Resort embodies what an RV resort should be. Here’s why:
- Everyone goes out of their way to make sure you have an excellent stay
- Consistent office hours, even in winter
- Beautiful setting
- Wide, paved roads and sites (a handful of sites are gravel)
- Buddy sites
- Easy in and out for big rigs
- Snow is meticulously cleared throughout the entire park and ice melt is used on common areas and walkways regularly
- A greeter will guide you to your site, make sure you’re lined up with your hookups, and answer any questions you might have
- All sites have winterized full hookups with 20, 30, and 50-amp service that are clear of snow when you arrive
- Propane service
- Heated indoor pool, indoor hot tub, and steam room with adult-only hours
- Two bathhouses with laundry facilities that are cleaned and tidied on a regular schedule
- Private bathrooms, each with their own shower, toilet, and sink
- Cotton shower floor mats per use
- Workout equipment
- A lodge with common areas for spending time outside of your RV
- Manicured lawns in the summer
- Park model cabins if you want to get out of your rig or invite others to vacation with you that don’t have an RV
- You can leave your bagged trash at the end of your site for daily morning pick-up
- Package acceptance
They are in close proximity to McCall and Valley County winter activities
- McCall Activity Barn – 5 minutes – Snow tubing
- Little Ski Hill – 10 minutes – Downhill skiing and snowboarding and uphill access
- Bear Basin Nordic Center – 10 minutes – Nordic skiing
- Ponderosa State Park – 10 minutes – Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing
- McCall Golf Club – 10 minutes – Winter walking
- Jug Mountain Ranch – 15 minutes – Nordic skiing, fat biking, and snowshoeing
- Brundage Mountain – 20 minutes – Downhill skiing and snowboarding, snow cat skiing, lift-served backcountry, snowmobile tours and rentals, and winter RV camping
- Tamarack Resort – 30 minutes – Downhill skiing and snowboarding, nordic skiing, fat tire biking, snowshoeing, ice fishing, and winter rv camping
They’re the perfect home base for RVing Indy pass holders
Brundage and Tamarack participate in Indy Pass, which means pass holders receive 2 days each at both resorts for a total of 4 days. Pass holders also get a 25% discount on a 3rd day at each. Plan a week-long stay at McCall RV Resort for the best rate.
Access to a winter-friendly walking path to downtown McCall nearby
To access the path, cross the street where you entered McCall RV Resort and walk past Broken Horn Brewing Company. You’ll run into one of McCall’s pathways which are diligently plowed all winter. Hang a left to go downtown which is about 1.5 miles one way.

Tips
- Aside from filling out a reservation request form, it’s not possible to book a reservation online. Make sure you contact them within their business hours if you’re wanting a last-minute reservation. While someone typically replies promptly, I would send any urgent requests in the early AM.
- In the winter, we’ve never had trouble getting a site at the last minute. They have close to 200 sites, many of which are available in the winter. However, pay attention to holidays and other peak periods such as McCall’s annual Winter Carnival.
- When you arrive at RV resort, you’ll enter at their uppermost level. However, to check in, you need to continue straight and down the hill one level to the lodge.
- If you don’t want to stay at McCall RV Resort but need to dump, fill up on potable water or propane, or shower, call them at (208) 634-5646 for more information.
- If you need to do laundry and don’t have quarters, make sure you arrive when their office is open so you can purchase a roll of quarters. There are no change machines. This really only applies if you’re staying for a single night.
